Designed with unusual openings and difficult architectural features in mind, side sliding garage doors are the ideal solution for situations where other garage doors would not be suitable. Even with its side-sliding design, this type of garage door allows you to retain the full passage height and thanks to its PU-foamed panel design it offers excellent thermal insulation. Unlike other garage door types, side sliding sectional garage doors can be programmed to open partially, to allow for pedestrian access without the need to fully open the door.
Sectional doors are tested and certified in accordance with the high safety requirements of European standard 13241-1. You can use our safety checklist to find out whether your old garage door complies with the current safety standards.
In contrast to up-and-over doors, sectional doors or roller garage doors, this type of door opens to the side instead of upwards.
This is especially advantageous if, for example, the garage ceiling has to remain free to store items (e.g. a surfboard) or the door leaf cannot be stowed underneath or fixed to the ceiling due to construction reasons (sloped roof, low lintel or obstructive drainpipes).
The 42-mm-thick, PU-foamed sandwich panels are characterised by excellent acoustic and thermal insulation in addition to good door leaf stability and smooth running.

Individually design your garage door according to your wishes.You can select from up to 4 surface finishes that you can adapt to match the colour of your home. You can choose from 15 equally-priced preferred colours, approx. 200 RAL colours and 3 Decograin styles. The door surfaces are optimally protected against rust, allowing you to enjoy your new door for a long time. Rain runs off without leaving any streaky marks thanks to the use of hot-galvanized material and a high-quality polyester-primer coating on both sides.
Slategrain
With its embossed slate structure, the Slategrain surface picks up on current trends and ensures a modern door design. The surface for sectional garage doors with M and L ribbing is available in the colours Traffic white (RAL 9016) and Anthracite grey (RAL 7016) as well as in another 15 inexpensive preferred colours and in RAL to choose.
Duragrain
For the Duragrain surface finish with its detailed, natural and colourfast door surface, you can choose from 24 decors, e.g. with a concrete (see Fig.), rusty steel or natural stone look. The innovative digital printing process in combination with the final coating of high-strength protective paint ensures a permanently beautiful and scratch-resistant door view.
Planar
The smooth Planar surface is timeless and with its matt, fine structure it ensures an elegant door appearance. This surface is available for sectional garage doors in L-ribbed in 6 exclusive Hörmann matt deluxe colours.
Decograin
Decograin surface finishes with UV-resistant plastic film coating give your sectional door a striking and authentic timber look or an elegant metallic appearance in Anthracite. You can select from five natural timber decors or an elegant metallic decor

Convenient inquiry of the door position
You no longer have to go out in all kinds of weather to check whether your door is closed. At the press of a button, the colour of the LED on the hand transmitter HS 5 BS or the internal push button FIT 5 BS indicates the position of the door. If required, another push of a button* closes the door.It is the most convenient and secure way to control your door.* An additional photocell is required for operation without visual contact to the door.
